The Hardwick Garden Design Garden Process
1. Garden on-site CONSULTATION
After an initial conversation on the phone, we schedule a 1-hour on-site consultation at your property, recognizing areas that need improvement while highlighting and enhancing key features of your landscape, and discussing your desires and define goals for your landscape. After evaluating your scope and services needed, you will be given a written landscape design proposal, outlining the deliverables for your design, in addition to receiving a written overview report of our consultation together.
The cost for this garden onsite consultation is $150, paid prior to meeting date.
Deliverables also includes in this fee a preliminary property and jurisdictional research prior to meeting.
2. Site Analysis
* timeline same day - 1 week from signed proposal agreement
Upon approval of the design proposal, site measurements of the property and existing elements will be recorded to create a base map in CAD. Any known surveys or existing site documents you may have of your property can help reduce the cost of creating your design.
3. Concept Designs
* timeline 2 weeks from site analysis
Our second meeting will focus on reviewing two schematic concept designs, each showcasing a unique layout for your property. The goal of this phase is to achieve the “big picture” vision for your project, by placing these ideas on paper. Deliverables will include:
- Two distinct schematic concept designs.
- Images of material suggestions tailored to the design
- A plant vision board showcasing the proposed plant selections and overall landscape aesthetic.
4. Landscape Layout Revision Plan

Once receive your feedback on the concept drawings, then will refine and create the revised landscape layout plan, followed by an email for approval before finalizing drawings.
5. Final Design
* timeline 2 weeks from receiving approved landscape revision layout plan
Deliverables at this final design include:
- A detailed planting plan with sizes and quantities.
- Comprehensive hardscape notes and material selection
- A maintenance care package for all new plants.
